Tony Winner Karen Olivo Lands Role in The Good Wife Starting May 4

West Side Story star Karen Olivo, who won a Tony Award in 2009 for her work as Anita in the hit musical revival, has been cast in a recurring role on the hit CBS drama The Good Wife. She will play Giada Cabrini, a law student working as an intern (and possible love interest?) to the character of Will Gardner, played by Josh Charles.

Olivo has been appearing in West Side Story for over a year. In addition to the Tony, she was honored with a 2009 Broadway.com Audience Award for Favorite Featured Actress in a Broadway Musical. She previously created the role of Vanessa in In the Heights and has also appeared on Broadway in Rent and Brooklyn.

The Good Wife, which was recently picked up for a second season by CBS, stars Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who re-enters the work force as a defense attorney after her husband’s public sex and political corruption scandal.
